What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of Restoration Church Jersey Shore based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

We believe in the infallible Word of God, given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit from which we get the Old and New Testaments

We believe the Lord our God is one God, manifested in Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the eternal Godhead, dwelling bodily in Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus, God's Son, is Emmanuel, God with us,
and the Messiah

We believe because of man's sin, Jesus became the supreme sacrifice, giving His life freely to die on the cross so that all who will accept Him will receive eternal life. We believe that Jesus rose again on the third day, ascended into Heaven is and now seated at the right hand of God.

We believe in water baptism in Jesus' Name by immersion, by which the believer is identified with the Lord Jesus Christ in his death, burial and resurrection, bringing Him into covenant relationship with God.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, and that this gift is for all believers and that this power is imparted to bring us to full maturity and victor
 in all areas of life.

We believe in the manifested gifts of the Holy Spirit to be used through the local assembly and divided by God as he wills.
We believe God's plan and purposes for today are revealed through the local church, the body of Christ, and that the church is to function according to the New Testament.

We believe that one day Jesus Christ will return for his bride, the church, and our corruptible bodies will be changed to eternal, incorruptible bodies. At that time, Christ will judge both the living and the dead and He will reward the righteous and punish the wicked.

We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning and that is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that
God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other.

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of the church.

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps 139).
