How it all started...
“I will build this church, but I will use you to restore the people.”
That is what the Lord spoke to Pastor Steve at the beginning of the ministry here in Jersey Shore. Our church began in September of 1993, when Pastors Steve and Dilonna Coran held their first home meeting here in the borough. After growing and moving to the local YMCA gymnasium, we realized it was time for a place of our own. As an answer to prayers, we rented a small store front room on Allegheny Street. Formerly The Victoria Theatre and in much need of repair, it went under major renovations. Today we are enjoying the fruits of a labor of love from the members of the congregation…and a very skilled carpenter hired to do what we could not.
Our first and primary vision has always been to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our community and to share the truth that Jesus came to save us from our sins and to restore us to fellowship with God. We believe that following this life changing Gospel produces strong marriage, strong families, and a strong community!

Expanding the vision...
We witness restoration in many places: whether that be an old home that needs restored or a family heirloom that needs refinishing. There is nothing sadder than to see a once costly piece of furniture or ornate plaster cornice distressed and in ruins due to age and neglect. Restoration is an action or a process where something is returned to a former owner, place, or condition. It is only when a work of restoration begins and finishes that we can regain its true value and worth. But with Jesus, He does not restore us back to our original condition, He restores us into a place that is even better than we were. A place where we have hope. A place where we have peace. A place where we feel the Father’s love. A place of healing and deliverance. A place where we are not bound by tradition, addiction, or religion, but into fellowship with a loving God who said He would never leave you or forsake you.
That has been our heart as we continue day after day and is another part of our vision: restoration. We have seen how God can heal lives that are broken, restore shattered dreams, and instill hope into mended hearts that are surrendered to Him. Whether in service, LIFEgroup, or even a trip to the grocery store...it is to share the power of restoration through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is for this reason we were inspired to change the name of our church to Restoration Church of Jersey Shore.
Because no life is beyond repair. No life is beyond hope. God has done it for us, and He will surely do it for you!

Where we are headed...
We are excited about where God is leading our church family as we continue to meet the needs of individuals and families in our community in new ways. We are currently praying for land so that we can build a new facility that will facilitate these new outreaches. We know that God has great things in store for Restoration Church Jersey Shore!
